Hangzhou International School (HIS)
It is part of the Shanghai Community International School (SCIS) system. SCIS operates on four campus locations: Hangzhou and Shanghai (Hongqiao Campus, 2 Pudong Campuses).
HIS/SCIS has a full term of accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
HIS/SCIS was founded in 1996 by the International Schools Foundation. ISF operates five international schools: two in Shanghai, and one each in Hangzhou, Jakarta, and Cape Town. ISF is a non-profit (501 C-3) organization located in Lansing, Michigan, and operated by an appointed Board of Governors.
Combined, HIS/SCIS currently has over 2000 children enrolled in preschool through grade 12, across four campus locations.
Approximately 300 students from 30 nationalities attend HIS.
HIS/SCIS has a dedicated and talented group of educators on each campus. They are a diverse team who come mainly from the USA, Canada, England, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa.
HIS/SCIS is based on the American system (grade levels, similar structure of class offerings, daily schedule, yearly calendar); school hours for student attendance is 8:00 – 3:00, Mondays through Fridays.
The curriculum is international (based on an American framework, but incorporating the standards from many Western countries: USA, England, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand); materials are largely from the U.S., but also include materials from other countries.

Freinet Education Center
Freinet Education Center Hangzhou is the first Freinet Kindergarten in China. It is recognized by the International Federation of Freinet Movement (FIMEM) which includes all Freinet Schools in the world. This Center is addressed to 2.5-6 year old children. There are totally 20 children in this center and 6 are foreigners from America and Europe.
Curriculum Provision: English-Chinese bilingual classes four days a week; French-Chinese bilingual class once a week.

Kangqiao Ashore Blue Mountains Kindergarten
It is the second Kindergarten in Hangzhou established by New Jordan International Education Group in May 2008.It has totally 250 students and most of them are Chinese. International students aged from 26 months-6 year old are welcome to join in this place. Hangzhou Nihonjingakko
Japanese School in Hangzhou is tailor-made to students who have Japanese citizenship and also can speak Japanese. There are almost 60 students aged from 4 year old to 15 year old. Children who have lived in Japan for a long time but without Japanese citizenship can be also considered to attend this school.
